About The Pitlochry List

Hi, I’m Chrys — I live in the Pitlochry area, and I created The Pitlochry List because I kept wishing something like it already existed.

As a parent to a young child, I spent a lot of time trying to piece together what was actually going on locally — a weekly group here, a term-time class there, a one-off event I’d only hear about after it had happened. Much of it lived in scattered Facebook posts, word of mouth, or noticeboards you’d only see if you happened to walk past at the right time. I wanted one place where all of it could live together.

That’s what The Pitlochry List is: a simple, honest directory of what’s happening in Highland Perthshire — local traders and services, activities for kids and families, and classes and groups for adults.

For local traders and services: advertising locally has usually meant choosing between spending a few hundred pounds on something like our local magazine brochure, or posting on Facebook, where it disappears from view within hours. The Pitlochry List is meant to be a genuine alternative — one place where people can actually search for what you offer, with proper filters and modern search features, rather than hoping someone scrolls past your post at the right moment. Listings are free for now, to help get the directory off the ground — down the line, I’ll likely introduce some paid features to help cover running costs and the time that goes into it, but there’s no better time to grab a free listing than now.

If you run something local that isn’t listed yet, I’d love for you to add it. And if you spot something out of date, just get in touch.
