Welcome to The Pitlochry List (“we,” “us,” “our,” or “the Site”). By accessing or using this website, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. About This Site
The Pitlochry List is a directory website connecting people in Pitlochry and the surrounding Highland Perthshire area with local traders and services, family activities, and adult classes and groups. Listings may be submitted by third parties (business owners, activity organisers, community members) or added by site administrators.

2. Accuracy of Listings
We make reasonable efforts to keep listings accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any information on the Site, including prices, schedules, opening hours, and contact details. Listings may change without notice. We strongly recommend contacting the listing owner directly to confirm details (times, costs, availability) before attending an activity or engaging a service.

3. Third-Party Listings and Liability
We are not responsible for the conduct, quality, safety, or legality of any trader, service, activity, or event listed on the Site. Any transaction, booking, or interaction you have with a listed business or organiser is solely between you and that third party. We accept no liability for any loss, damage, injury, or dispute arising from your use of, or reliance on, a listing.

4. User Submissions and Listings We Add
By submitting a listing, you confirm that:

• The information you provide is accurate and you have the right to submit it
• You will keep your listing reasonably up to date
• You will not submit false, misleading, offensive, or unlawful content
• You are responsible for the content of your listing and for responding to enquiries it generates

We reserve the right to edit, reject, unpublish, or remove any listing at our discretion, without notice, including (but not limited to) listings that are inaccurate, inappropriate, or violate these Terms.

We may also add listings ourselves. Where we do, we use basic information that the business, group, or organiser has already made public, or information they have given us permission to use, and we write our own descriptions. We only use photos, logos, posters, and other images or wording created by others with the owner’s permission. If you would like a listing about you changed or removed, or an image taken down, contact us and we will act on your request promptly.

Listings may expire after a set period so that the Site stays current. Community listings can be renewed free of charge.

5. Pricing and Payments
The Site is free to use and free to list on until March 2027. During this period, no payment details are needed to submit a listing, and there is no commitment.

Community listings and events (those run by volunteers, charities, schools, churches, or community organisations, where any charge only covers costs or goes to a good cause) are free, always. We decide what counts as a community listing.

After March 2027, businesses, and events or classes run for profit or income, may continue to be listed for a fee, or may choose to let their listing end. We will tell you about the fee before it applies, and we will not take any payment unless you have agreed to it. Payment terms and any refund policy will be presented at the point of purchase.

We do not process payments on behalf of listed traders or activity organisers for their own products, services, or events. Any such payments are made directly to the third party.

6. Claiming a Listing
If a listing about your business, service, or activity already appears on the Site and you would like to manage it, you may use the “Claim a Listing” feature. We reserve the right to verify claims and may request evidence of ownership or authority to manage the listing before approving a claim.

7. Intellectual Property
The design, layout, and original content of the Site (excluding user-submitted listing content) belong to The Pitlochry List. You may not copy, reproduce, or republish substantial parts of the Site without permission. Images and descriptions submitted with a listing remain the property of the submitter, who grants us a licence to display them on the Site. If you submit an image or text created by someone else, you confirm that you have their permission to do so.

8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:

• Use the Site for any unlawful purpose
• Submit spam, malicious content, or attempt to disrupt the Site’s operation
• Scrape or harvest data from the Site without permission

9. Privacy
Our use of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect and how it is used.

10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
